Hannah will work closely with you (and your child) to fully understand what difficulties are being experienced and how she can help. One hour (or shorter if appropriate) sessions can take place online or face to face and are followed up by a simple email, detailing main points from the session and any work set for the following week. Recommendations and advice can also be given with regards to support at school, use of assistive technology (e.g. computer readers) and Exams Access Arrangements.
Hannah currently works in a Further Education college, in a post-16 English and Maths GCSE setting, but can support any learner in secondary education who is experiencing difficulties with reading, writing or Maths. She also has experience of working with adults who are returning to education and Higher Education (university) students with dyslexia, who need support with research and writing.
Whilst Hannah is a Specialist Dyslexia Tutor, she also has many years of experience of working with neurodiverse learners with other diagnoses, including Dyscalculia, Developmental Coordination Disorder (previously known as Dyspraxia), ADHD and Autism and is used to adapting her teaching style to the needs and unique brains of the learner, by focussing on how they learn rather than what they know. Building up self-esteem and confidence is at the heart of her teaching: she understands how difficult it can be for some of our young people to feel successful in today’s education system.
However you or your child might be experiencing difficulties, please get in touch and have a chat to us about how we might be able to help.
